Winter Home Sales
Surprise! Data says selling a home in the winter pays off
Conventional wisdom says that spring is the time to list your home for sale. However, research shows that listing a home in the winter – from mid-December to March – is statistically a better time to sell your home.
One study showed that homes sold during the winter months had a 9 percent greater chance of selling than in any other season.
When is a good time to sell a home? Most often, it really comes down to when you are ready, no matter what the statisticians say.

3 most important things for a successful home sale
It’s said that the three most important things in buying a home are location, location, location. But if you want to know why some homes sell and some homes don’t, consider these three things:
- Pricing it right:Nothing influences a home’s sale more than its price. Understanding how to price your home requires the counsel of a professional who sells real estate for a living.
- First impression, best impression:Often called your “curb appeal,” how your home looks from the curb is as important as how it looks on the inside. That’s the key: both are important. A licensed real estate professional can help remove all the traps that can leave a negative impression on the buyer and help “stage” your home so it showcases its strengths.
- Spreading the word:It takes more than a couple of social media posts to sell a home and maximize the sales price. That’s where working with a real estate pro like me makes all the difference. It’s my job to create and execute a marketing plan for the sale of your home that maximizes its exposure to as many buyers as possible.
